What We're Looking For
Team
We are looking for small teams (think 2-3 people) capable of building a product and disrupting a market. That means that they have a solid technical background and have an understanding of how engage people into adopting new products. We want to know the background of the founders, what got them together and what is the motivation that inspired them to work together.
Execution
We want to see a prototype, an early first version of your product. We want teams that are able to experiment, iterate and pivot fast (think days rather than months) and the only way we can measure that is with an example.
Passion
To able to really disrupt a market, you will need to know a lot about it, you will pivot, iterate, fail and change a lot based on what you don't know yet and for that you will need to be motivated, and passionate about the impact you are trying to bring to the world.
Commitment
You are all willing to become a full-time startup cofounder. Yes, this means quitting your current job and any other consulting gigs in order to put all your love and energy into your product and your customers.
Eagerness to learn
Making a successful startup usually comes with failing, getting mixed feedback and making difficult decisions. We've noticed that people who like to learn, have tons of curiosity and take feedback in a productive way are best suited to deal with the challenges of a starting a company.
That being said, traction speaks louder than words. If you already have adoption or any other kind of special advantage, we encourage you to apply as well.
How does the Mexican.vc Application process work?
The application will be open from April 17 to May 18.
Soon after you submit your application, we will reach out to you and start a conversation about your team and any other question that we might have. We want to make sure that we are able to get as much information as we need and solve any question that you might have.
On May 18th we will close the application process and select the teams we want to interview in person. After the in-person interview we will announce the next generation of Mexican.vc in the last week of May.
